Friends of Immanuel Dinner Recap

60 years of God's faithfulness to Immanuel Christian Schools - that is what we celebrated at the Friends of Immanuel Dinner on March 15, 2023.  Approximately 125 people gathered at Country Kitchen Catering, located in the basement of The Keg, where so many ICS banquets have been held in the past.

After sharing a delicious meal together, we were honoured to receive congratulatory messages from MP Rachael Thomas, MLA Nathan Neudorf, Mayor Blaine Hyggen and Lethbridge School Division Superintendent Cheryl Gilmore.  Former ICS staff member Henry Heinen shared some memories from the early days of Immanuel, as well as reflections on his time there.  We were then treated to hear from 4 generations of the Kolk family - Mrs. Audrey Kolk, her son John Kolk, his daughter Ashley Stronks, and her son Daymen (current grade 8 student) about why they have chosen ICS and the impact it has had on them.  The program ended with current principals Barbi Wall and Matthew Bekkering looking towards the future of Immanuel Christian Schools.

It was a wonderful evening, celebrating God's faithfulness to ICS for the past 60 years and asking for His blessing for many years to come. We are thankful for the generosity of our community, with over $30,000 being raised for Immanuel Christian Schools.
